Delhi's upcoming wicketkeeper-batsman Krish Yadav scored a fighting 68 off 76 balls (7x4s, 1x6) to take SRK Technology to a three-wicket win over Uday Bhan Cricket Academy in a 50th All India Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Memorial Cricket Tournament at the SGTB Khalsa ground on Monday.
After Uday Bhan Cricket Academy were restricted to 219/8 in 40 overs thanks to Yash Bhatia top-scoring with 55, SRK Technology found themselves in a spot of bother. They lost three quick wickets to be reduced to 59/3 when Yadav walked out and then found themselves at 146/5. However, Yadav kept them in the hunt as he played himself in.
Sarthak Ranjan scored 34 at the top while Anjaneya Suryavanshi hit 35.
"It was a low scoring match, we lost a few wickets quickly. There was a collapse. So I wanted to bat taking my own time. I took it to the end but couldn't finish," said Yadav, who has pursued BA (Honours) in English.
His team eventually won by three wickets in the 36th over with Kaushal Suman scoring 33 off 28 balls.
The 21-year-old Yadav represents Essex Farms in DDCA League and has totalled 272 runs in four league games so far. He has represented Delhi in under-19 and under-23 levels. He was also included in Ranji Trophy squad two years ago but couldn't make the playing XI.
The resident of Paschim Vihar, who trains at Airliner Cricket Academy at Bharti College in Janakpuri, had a decent outing at the under-23 level this year. He made 180 against Goa and totalled 292 in six innings of Col CK Nayudu Trophy.
"I was busy with state duties, so have played only four matches in DDCA League this year."
