The three-day Delhi Literature Festival culminated at the Bikaner House in New Delhi on Sunday with a great rendition of ghazals by Minu Bakshi. It was no surprise that biggest and the youngest crowd was reserved for this last event that left the audience get enthralled.
The sound system was not exactly the best for a music show since there were plenty of one-to-one discussions that had taken place during the day, and it was hard to suddenly set everything up for the musicians and singer Meenu.
There were a few foreigners who had specifically descended to hear Meenu sing.
There were a few Italians who wanted to hear Indian classical music and songs even though they could not understand even one bit of the language.
Besides the musical performance, a couple of well-attended talk shows brought gaze to the final day unlike the first two days.
Bangladesh author Taslima Nasrin spoke to Advaita Kala and recited her poetry that touched on misogyny and unfair treatment of women in her country. Taslima is a Swedish citizen with resident status in USA but lives in New Delhi.
Then senior journalist Gaurav Choudhury spoke to bureaucrat Pavan K Varma (in pic) on his latest book, 'Echoes of Eternity: A Journey Through Indian Thought from the Rigveda to the Present'.
There were books on sale including some bestsellers written by Swapna Liddle.
