Riding on a commanding century by Priyam Garg after a good bowling performance, Carpediem India defeated J&J Buildcon Cricket Club in an All India Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament match at the SGTB Khalsa College Ground.
Opener Garg hammered an unbeaten 109 off 51 balls (12x4s, 7x6s) as Carpediem India chased down 153, reaching 158/1 in 14.5 overs to win by nine wickets. Lakhan Singh had made an unbeaten 33.
Earlier, opener Pawan Besoya (76 ff 93 balls) was the only one to help his team reach get past 150. Thanks to his knock, J&J Buildcon ended at 153 all out in 35.4 overs.
Yash Garg, with 3/44, was the pick of the bowlers.
Priyam Garg, who plays first class cricket for Uttar Pradesh, said that the pressure wasn't much.
"We had a low total to chase, so we went after the bowling."
The right-handed Priyam Garg has played three Ranji Trophy matches for his state, scoring one century. He also had 250 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20s.
While Priyam was Kimati Man of the Match, Pawan Besoya ended with the Fighter of the Match Award.
The All India Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament is part of Delhi cricket's Hot Weather circuit.
