The ChargeMate Trio is a 3-in-1 wireless charging station plus travel utility kit, launched by Portronics. It is designed for people who carry multiple small devices (phone, watch, earbuds) and travel often or move about, so their need for cables, connectors, SIM/SD tools among other things is held all in one compact unit.

Its model identifier is POR-3196.

Key Features

Here are the main features of the ChargeMate Trio:

  • Simultaneous wireless charging: It charges a smartphone (up to 15 W), a smartwatch (~ 2.5 W), and wireless earbuds at the same time.
  • Magnetic alignment: It has magnetic alignment on the charging pads to hold your devices securely in place ensuring stable charging.
  • Travel utility kit & storage: It includes a storage compartment that holds essential accessories: a 60 W Type-C fast-charging cable, multiple interchangeable connectors (USB-A, USB-C, Lightning, Micro USB), SIM and SD card slots, plus a SIM ejector tool.
  • Design & build: It has Triple-pad, round/foldable design. The build material is ABS plastic with a matte finish.
  • Compact and portable: It is easy to carry while travelling.
  • Power requirements: For optimal charging, using a power adapter of 18 W or higher is recommended.
  • Warranty & pricing: It comes with a 6-month manufacturer’s warranty. In India priced at ₹1,399.

Advantages

Here are the advantages of using the ChargeMate Trio:

  • Convenience: Instead of forcing people to carry separate chargers, cables, connectors, and tools, this is an all-in-one solution. Great for people who travel or move around with multiple gadgets.
  • Space & clutter reduction: The storage compartment for cables, connectors, SIM/SD cards etc. helps reduce the mess of many loose accessories. Good for minimalists or frequent flyers.
  • Wireless & multi-device charging: The ability to charge three devices wirelessly simultaneously is very useful — phone + watch + earbuds is a common combination. The magnetic alignment ensures better contact and less slipping.
  • Cost-effective: Given what you’re getting (wireless charging + accessory storage + cable kit etc.), ₹1,399 is reasonable for many consumers.
  • Portability: Compact build makes it more portable. If you pack your gadgets often, the foldable/trio-pad design helps.

Limitations

No product is perfect; here are some limitations or possible downsides:

  • Wireless charging speed: While 15 W is decent, many flagship phones can support higher speeds over wireless. So for users who want maximum fast wireless charging, this may not be the fastest.
  • Compatibility issues: Wireless charging works best with Qi-certified devices, or with good alignment. Cases, non-standard sizes, or devices needing higher wattages might charge slower. Some features may not be supported on all devices/smartwatches/earbuds.
  • Durability concerns: ABS plastic is alright, but not as premium-feeling or rugged as metals or higher-grade finishes. The hinges or foldable parts might degrade over long-term heavy use.
  • Weight & size trade-off: To include all the storage for cables, connectors, SIM/SD etc., the unit is likely larger/heavier than a very slim wireless pad. For people who prioritize ultra-light travel, that might be a concern.
  • Power adapter not included: Often with such kits, a powerful adapter (≥ 18 W) is required to get full potential. If that isn’t included, you either use what you have (which may under-utilize) or have to buy separately.
  • Warranty period: Six months for electronics is acceptable, but lower than some premium brands which offer longer warranty. Something to keep in mind.
