The second edition of the Matri Swar T20 Tournament will begin on February 6 in Burari, North Delhi, organisers announced on Friday.

As many as eight teams will feature in the tournament.

Speaking to the media, tournament convenor Chetan Sharma said, "Just like the famous Matri Shree Media awards, we had started this annual event. This tournament will promote and support the talent of Delhi. We will have journalists' matches too. They have a busy schedule and this event will give them a chance to come on the field and showcase their cricket skills. We will be looking forward to another fantastic season."

Tournament organisers Lalit Kumar, Sachin Bhagat and Sandeep Tyagi said the preparations have already begun and “we will make sure that local crowds may come and support us”.

“We have got eight teams so far, but in case any more teams would want to join, we will look into it. But right now we are going with eight teams,” they said.

Burari Lions were the champions of the inaugural season. The tournament will be played as per ICC rules.
