Elite Warriors, Al Kabir register big wins in Elahi cricket

Elite Warriors CC beat Flying Eagles by 86 runs while Al Kabir CC defeated Friends CC by 55 runs; Sourabh and Faraz Hameed were named Players of the Matches

New Delhi: The second day of the 1st Elahi Memorial Old Delhi T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 witnessed a couple of one-sided games with Elite Warriors Cricket Club and Al Kabir Cricket Club registering big wins at the St Stephen's College Grounds on Friday.

Batting first, in the first match of the day, Elite Warriors scored 217/3 in their allotted 20 overs as they thrashed the Flying Eagles bowlers to all parts of the ground. All the top five batsmen contributed with Anantt D Jain scoring an unbeaten 59 off 25 balls. His knock was laced with seven fours and two sixes. Sourabh chipped in with 41 not out off 24 balls (6x4s, 1x6).

Flying Eagles, in response, were restricted to 131/9 in 20 overs. Suhail scored 44 not out off 46 balls while Rameez made 32 off 25 balls. Faisal Qureshi was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/29.

Sourabh was adjudged Player of the Match. Besides his 41 not out, he also took 1/11 in his four overs.

In the second match of the day, Al Kabir Cricket Club thrashed Friends Cricket Club by 55 runs. Al Kabir scored 181/6 in 20 overs. Shailender top-scored with 83 off 45 balls (8x4s, 4x6s). Faraz Hameed made 49 off 38 balls. Atif was the pick of the bowlers with 3/18 while Shariq Faraz took 2/42.

In response, Friends Cricket Club were dismissed for 131 in 16.5 overs. Arshan top-scored with 52 off 31 balls (10x4s, 1x6). Kaif (3/19) and Faraz Hameed (3/20) took three wickets each. Faraz was adjudged Player of the Match for his all-round show.

The Elahi Memorial Old Delhi T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 is an initiative taken to provide platform to young cricketers from Delhi.
