Former players who couldn't get pension earlier will get it now

Former Delhi cricketers, who are members of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), will now be eligible for pension after the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) accepted an application that was filed by DDCA in the matter.
It should be noted that the DDCA has been giving pension to former Delhi cricketers who have played a specific number of domestic matches for the state. However, an application by a former member of DDCA, late NC Bakshi in the past, had put a stop on pension to those who were members of the DDCA club as according to the rules, members aren’t allowed to draw any money from the association.
The MCA has, however, overturned that and given DDCA the green signal to hand them the pension.
The DDCA was paying pension to first-class cricketers who have represented Delhi in five to 24 matches. Those who have played 25 and above are given pension by BCCI. While pension to those who were not members began two weeks ago, the money to players who are members will be doled out now.
“It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that an application was filed by DDCA with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs seeking release of pension to such former players who are also member of DDCA, the MCA today has granted its approval for the same,” said a statement from DDCA President Rohan Jaitley.
“Consequently, the pension to former players who are also the members of DDCA shall be released in due course. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the above players/ members,” added the message from Jaitley.
