Batsman Himmat Singh and Delhi bowlers combined to script a 35-run win over Jammu & Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 cricket tournament, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Batting first, Delhi were in a spot of bother at 65/3 in the 11th over with Priyansh Arya, skipper Ayush Badoni and Yash Dhull back in the pavilion.

However, Himmat scored his second consecutive whirlwind half-century, scoring 71 not out off 46 balls, to help his team get to 161/4 in 20 overs. Mayank Rawat made unbeaten 29 off 20 balls.

Jammu and Kashmir were never in the game and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They lost two wickets without a run on the board in the first over of the innings bowled by Ishant Sharma.

The batsmen tried to resurrect the innings but it was too much. Left-arm spinner Harsh Tyagi picked three wickets for 34 runs while Simarjeet Singh (2/17) and (2/24) chipped in with two wickets each to bowl out Jammu and Kashmir for 126 in 19.4 overs.

This was Delhi’s second successive win after their 47-run win over Uttar Pradesh.
