New Delhi: Jarrod Kimber, well known cricket writer and filmmaker, made an important announcement at the Ekamra Sport Literature Festival (ESLF) 2025 when during his session he revealed that he is currently working on a Virat Kohli book, though Kimber did clarify that that he had asked Virat Kohli for a collaboration, but the Indian cricketer had politely refused.

During his session Kimber said, “It’s been a big honour to be asked here (at ESLF) as I really wanted to be in Delhi to announce that my new book is Virat Kohli and I am honoured to be able to write a book on him. I have been obsessed with Kohli since the moment he came out and I know he is a Delhi boy, so I will try to do my best I can with this book and I happy to make this announcement here in Delhi.”

He then went on to add, “I did contact Virat to say I am writing a book on you and ask if it is okay? And he said, “Yes” but he will not talk to me (not collaborate with me) which is I honestly believe is perfectly fine.”

Kimber was in Delhi for the seventh season of ESLF and on November 22 spoke at length about his book “The Art of Batting” during his session with Sanjeeb Mukherjea.

Kimber is an Australian cricket writer, filmmaker and podcaster who has made a name for himself over the years via his work on Cricket.

He has also worked as an editor of SPIN Magazine and as a writer for ESPNcricinfo.

Till date, he has written five books on cricket and was the co-director and co-writer for the documentary award-winning film ‘Death of a Gentleman’.

During the festival, it was also announced that ESLF from next season onwards will also award international sports book writers for their work.
