New Delhi: India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will not travel to Sri Lanka for the upcoming two-Test series later this month after the BCCI medical team advised him against rushing his return to competitive cricket.
A report in espncricinfo.com said, "The BCCI medical team has advised Bumrah not to rush back to action as he needs more time to completely recover from the left knee issue he has been nursing since the T20 World Cup earlier this year."

Bumrah has not bowled in a competitive match since the second ODI against England in Cardiff on July 16. He was subsequently ruled out of the third and final ODI at Lord's, with the BCCI attributing his absence to an impact injury sustained while fielding during the Cardiff match.
According to media reports, Bumrah underwent an injection to his left knee as part of a long-term rehabilitation plan prepared by the BCCI medical team.
