New Delhi: Purani Dilli 6 produced a commanding batting display to defeat West Delhi Lions by seven wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.

Earlier, West Delhi Lions posted 180/6 after opener Ankit Kumar smashed a brilliant 86 off 45 balls. He and Krish Yadav (43 off 31) gave the Lions a flying start with a 90-run opening stand. However, regular wickets in the second half of the innings prevented them from posting a bigger total. Pankaj Jaswal was the standout bowler for Purani Dilli 6 with figures of 2/30.

Chasing 181, Purani Dilli 6 lost Rohan Rana off the first ball but recovered strongly through a 94-run second-wicket partnership between Samarth Seth and Dev Lakra. Lakra led the charge with a blistering 64 off 33 balls, featuring four fours and six sixes, while Seth contributed a steady 30 off 29 deliveries.

After Lakra's dismissal, skipper Anuj Rawat anchored the chase with an unbeaten 49 off 26 balls. Lalit Yadav added an unbeaten 30 off 17 as the pair guided Purani Dilli 6 to victory with more than two overs to spare, sealing a comprehensive seven-wicket win.

Jonty Sidhu stars for Central Delhi Kings

Central Delhi Kings chased down a daunting target of 210 to register a thrilling four-wicket victory over North Delhi Strikers in the high-scoring second match of the day.

North Delhi Strikers posted an imposing 209/3 after captain Sarthak Ranjan (64 off 39) and Yash Bhatia stitched together a 93-run stand for the second wicket. Bhatia remained unbeaten on 90 off 51 balls, while Bharat Sindhwani provided the late flourish with an unbeaten 43 off 22 deliveries. Tejas Baroka was the most economical Central Delhi Kings bowler, returning figures of 1/23.

In reply, Central Delhi Kings slipped to 86/4 before Jonty Sidhu and Aditya Bhandari turned the game around with an 82-run fifth-wicket partnership. Bhandari struck a brisk 46 off 24 balls before falling, leaving Sidhu to complete the chase.

Sidhu starred with a match-winning 75 off just 38 deliveries, attacking from the outset and keeping the required rate in check. His innings ensured Central Delhi Kings crossed the finish line with more than an over to spare, sealing an impressive four-wicket win in a run-filled encounter.
