Bollywood star Sunny Leone and RJ Mahvash have bought teams in the forthcoming CLT10 Tennis Ball League, a canvas ball cricket tournament that is scheduled to take place in Noida on August 22-24.
The auction, conducted by veteran sports presenter Charu Sharma, on Thursday at Atrio by Devam Hotel at Rajokri saw as many as eight franchise owners compete fiercely to build their dream 15-player squads.
Besides Sunny Leone and RJ Mahvash, Prince Narula and singer Akhil Sachdeva were also seen actively bidding and cheering for their respective teams.
The highest bid of the night stole headlines, as star player Jignesh Patel went under the hammer for a whopping 12.25 crore, picked up by the dynamic Mighty Mavericks, owned by popular singer Jasmine Sandlas. The record-breaking bid underlined Patel’s status as the most sought-after player in this year’s league. The bid amount was, however, for auction and it will be divided by a number.
With each team owner crafting their roster of 15 players from a competitive pool, the league promises intense action, unique rivalries, and an electrifying atmosphere when matches commence later this month.
The CLT10 Tennis Ball League is an innovative cricketing format that blends the grassroots energy of tennis ball cricket with professional-level organisation and celebrity involvement. Scheduled to take place at a premier venue in Noida on August 22, 23, and 24, the league aims to bring together raw cricketing talent, entertainment, and sportsmanship in one unforgettable package.
