New Delhi: The Sock Street has stepped into the performance sportswear segment, unveiling a new range of compression gear and roping in Indian wrestling champion and undefeated MMA athlete Sangram Singh as its brand ambassador.
The homegrown brand, which is repositioning itself as a performance-first label for India's growing community of everyday athletes, has launched a Compression Performance Gear range comprising compression socks, arm sleeves and calf sleeves. The move comes as India's fitness ecosystem expands beyond traditional single-sport participation, with a rising number of consumers embracing running, cycling, gym training and endurance sports.
"Consumers are increasingly training across disciplines, from running and strength work to combat sports and functional fitness. Performance is now shaped by consistency, adaptability and resilience as much as by competition. That shift is creating demand for products that support movement across different training environments while still working well in everyday life," said a statement from the company.
Founded in 2023, The Sock Street began as a design-led socks brand focused on comfort and everyday wear. As the needs of active consumers have evolved, so has the brand. The new Compression Performance Gear collection marks the next step in that transition, expanding the brand's portfolio with compression socks, arm sleeves and calf sleeves designed to support comfort, stability, endurance and recovery across disciplines.
"At the heart of the campaign is the philosophy Wear What Keeps You Grounded. For The Sock Street, grounding is beyond physical stability. It also reflects discipline, roots, consistency and resilience, the qualities that hold an athlete steady even as sports, formats and goals continue to change. The brand positions its performance gear as a constant in that journey, designed to support movement without interrupting it," added the statement.
Speaking on the announcement, Udit Mayor, Co-founder and CEO of The Sock Street, said: "The way people approach fitness today has changed. Consumers do not move through life in just one lane, and they expect the products they wear to keep pace with that reality. The launch of our Compression Performance Gear collection reflects that evolution and marks an important step in our journey. Sangram Singh was a natural choice because his story reflects resilience, discipline and adaptability. Those values sit at the core of what we want The Sock Street to represent. Our ambition is to build products and stories that stay relevant across every stage of the performance journey."
Sangram Singh’s association with the brand reflects that same mindset. A FIT India icon who has built a career defined by perseverance and evolution; his journey from overcoming childhood arthritis to competing across combat sports makes him an authentic fit for the brand’s next chapter.
Commenting on the collaboration, Sangram Singh said, "Every athlete’s journey is built on discipline, consistency and the willingness to keep improving. Those values have guided me across wrestling and MMA, and they continue to shape how I approach performance every day. That is why The Sock Street’s philosophy feels personal to me. It is about staying grounded while continuing to evolve, and that is a belief I strongly connect with."
To mark the launch, The Sock Street has also unveiled its brand film, 'Wear What Keeps You Grounded'. Set within a single training environment, the film follows Sangram Singh as he moves across strength, combat and endurance disciplines.
With subtle visual references to discipline and upbringing, and minimal product integration, the film brings the brand’s performance-first philosophy to life without feeling like a conventional product commercial.
"With this launch, The Sock Street is laying the foundation for its next phase of growth, with a clear focus on performance, comfort and functionality for India’s rising community of everyday athletes," concluded the statement.
