Sundaram, a left-handed batsman, is 75 and replaces Aunshuman Gaekwad who died in July this year; he will serve the office till 2025

Former Delhi batsman and skipper Venkat Sundaram was elected as the new President of the Indian Cricketers' Association (ICA). He succeeds former India batsman Aunshuman Gaekwad, who died on July 31 this year.
Sundaram, a left-handed batsman, is 75. He played 81 first-class matches and scored 3,855 runs with five tons. He last played BCCI cricket in 1980.
“After an election process that got underway with Elections Notification sent on the 7th of November by the BCCI Electoral Officer, Mr. Venkittu Sundaram has been elected unopposed as the President of the ICA. The election concluded on November 30, 2024,” said a statement from ICA on Tuesday.
“Mr. Sundaram succeeds the late Past President, Mr. Aunshuman Gaekwad, whose leadership and contributions to the ICA will be remembered fondly. Under Mr. Sundaram's guidance, the ICA is poised to continue its mission of advocating for the interests and welfare of former cricketers,” the statement added.
Sundaram will serve as President for a term that extends until the next General Election of ICA Office Bearers, which is scheduled to take place in 2025 under the supervision of the BCCI Electoral Officer.
“As we embark on this new journey under Mr. Sundaram’s leadership, the ICA is committed to promoting the interests and welfare of former cricketers,” the statement concluded.
