West Bengal defeated Manipur by 77 runs, and Punjab triumphed over Goa by 10 wickets in the ongoing 7th edition of the Men's National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2024-25 for the Nagesh Trophy.
The tournament is supported by the IndusInd Bank.
West Bengal scored 199/3 in their allotted 20 overs, and Manipur, unable to chase the target, managed only 122/9 in 20 overs. Surajit Ghara (B2 category) of West Bengal was named the Player of the Match for his innings of 69 runs off 45 balls.
In the second game on the same day, Punjab defeated Goa. After choosing to bat, Goa were dismissed for 67 in 14 overs. Punjab easily chased down the target, scoring 68/0 in 8 overs. Aravind Tumla (B3) from the Punjab team was named Player of the Match for his impressive knock of 30 runs.
The league matches are being played across six venues: Bengaluru (Karnataka), Kota (Rajasthan), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Hyderabad (Telangana), Ludhiana (Punjab), and Kharagpur (West Bengal).
After the league matches conclude on December 27, 2024, the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), in association with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, will host the Super 8 Stage Matches in February 2025.
The IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy Group E league matches began on November 14, 2024, with all four teams of Group E—Punjab, Manipur, West Bengal, and Goa—battling for glory at the IPS Cricket Ground in Ludhiana, Punjab. The Cricket Association for the Blind in Punjab is hosting the matches.
