Australia have 100 per cent record at the Perth Stadium that is scheduled to host the first Test between the Pat Cummins-led home team and India from November 22 for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

They have played four Tests here, one each against India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and West Indies, and have won all of them.

India, now coached by Gautam Gambhir, will therefore be the first team to play second Test at the venue. Interestingly, India were the first team to play Australia at the venue. That was in December 2018.

The visitors, then led by Virat Kohli, lost the Test by 146 runs. Kohli was the only batsmen from either side to score a century.

Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was, however, named Player of the Match as he took eight wickets (5/67 & 3/39). His feat was commendable since it was a fast-paced pitch.

India though went onto win that four-Test series 2-1 with the Perth Test being their only loss on the tour.

They did not play at Perth the last time they toured, in 2021-22.

The new venue has been hosting Tests at Perth since 2018. Prior to that WACA was the venue.

India had played four Tests at the WACA, losing three and winning one. Their only win at WACA came in 2008.
