Delhi’s T20 team, led by Nitish Rana, crossed the finish line by just a whisker when Himmat Singh’s slash over deep point escaped for a six after Shahrukh Khan failed to hold onto it despite a goalkeeper-like attempt.

Chasing 199 to win, Delhi had a great start to the innings as opener Priyansh Arya went after the bowling scoring 35 off 15 balls. Thanks to his ballistic start, Delhi reached 52 in five overs.

Skipper Nitish Rana (34 off 26 balls) and Yash Dhull (71 off 46 balls, 4x4s, 4x6s) added 58 for the second wicket. After Rana fell on the last ball of the 12th over with the score on 110, Dhull took charge as Delhi took 61 runs in five overs to take Delhi near Tamil Nadu’s total.

Delhi stumbled after Dhull’s dismissal on the first ball of the 18th over. Soon after that, Ayush Badoni was dismissed for 41 off 23 balls on the last ball of the 19th over.

From 28 off 18, the equation was 12 from six with two off the last ball. Himmat Singh slashed and managed to get a fortunate six to help Delhi cross the line.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu’s innings revolved around Tshar Raheja’s 72 off 41 balls. India Test player Sai Sudharsan failed to get going, scoring 13.

Prince Yadav took 3/43 while Simarjeet Singh returned with 2/52.

Delhi had lost the first match to Jharkhand by seven wickets.  They are placed sixth in the points table.
