
Perfect Pitch Events and Sports, which also runs the UP T20 League, have been given the rights for Delhi T20 league; Rs 70 lakh set as spending limit for teams on players with the marquee player getting a maximum of Rs 10 lakh

The rights for the management of the proposed Delhi Premier League (DPL), the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA)’s T20 league, have been sold to Perfect Pitch Events and Sports for Rs 41 crore, it has been learnt by www.thedelhijunction.com.
Perfect Pitch Events and Sports is also responsible for the running of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association’s UP T20 League and will oversee the T20 league in the Capital, including the auction of players and teams.
The Delhi league is expected to begin next month while the auction/allotment of teams and auction of players is expected to take place this month.
Each team has been allocated a maximum purse limit of Rs 70 lakh, and they cannot spend more than Rs 10 lakh on one player. That amount of Rs 10 lakh will be given to only the marquee or top player, that is, one who has played either the Indian Premier League or international cricket matches.
Each team will have to buy 20 players within the Rs 70 lakh budget.
The television rights have been given to Jio Cinema, it has also been learnt.
The DDCA is planning to float six teams among men and four teams among women for the franchise T20 league.
As many as three grounds in the Capital, with floodlights, have been earmarked for the tournament which will held on the pattern of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and the now defunct Karnataka Premier League and Mumbai Premier League, the other state association leagues to have been held in the country.
