New Delhi: On the second day of the 23rd Delhi State Wushu Championship, organised by the Delhi Amateur Wushu Association (DAWA), athletes delivered spectacular performances in both Taolu and Sanda events, making the competition an incredibly thrilling affair.

The second day featured Sanda (Sanshou) competitions for the Sub-Junior and Junior categories (Boys and Girls), wherein athletes delivered powerful performances to secure medals. In the Taolu events, athletes showcased a high level of technique and balance.

DLWQ dominated the Taolu events, with its athletes proving their supremacy by winning a total of 24 gold medals. Meanwhile, in the Sanda events, athletes from TMAAI, Buddha Wushu Club, and other affiliated units delivered outstanding performances, securing medals across various categories.

During the competition, in the Sub-Junior Girls' category, athletes demonstrated their talent by winning gold medals — including Aradhya (Buddha Wushu Club) in the 24 kg class, Rashika (Shivaji Sports) in the 28 kg class, Arushi (Buddha Wushu Academy) in the 32 kg class, and others in various weight divisions.

Similarly, in the Sub-Junior Boys' category, athletes including Ahil Khan (NCW) in the 24 kg class, Prince (NWC) in the 28 kg class, Shivam (TMAI) in the 32 kg class, and Dev (RK Sports) in the 36 kg class, among others, secured gold medals.

In the Junior Girls' category, several athletes — including Nancy Bansal (HMA), Rishika (Buddha Wushu Club), Urvashi Kumari (HMA), and Khushi (HMA) — delivered outstanding performances and won gold medals.

Throughout the day-long competitions, medals were awarded to the winners of the Taolu and Sanda events, respectively.

On this occasion, the Chief Guest, Rajveer Singh, Deputy Commandant, CRPF (and a former international athlete and coach of the Indian Wushu Team) honoured the athletes by presenting them with their medals and extended his best wishes for their bright future. He inspired the athletes to achieve excellence at the international level through discipline, hard work, and consistent practice.

During the event, other distinguished guests—including the Association's General Secretary, Hitendra Singh; Treasurer Chandra Shekhar; and Prem Chand (Under Secretary, Ministry of Law & Justice)—also encouraged the athletes by presenting them with medals.

The members of the organising committee played a pivotal role in the successful conduct of the competition. Furthermore, with the safety and health of the athletes in mind, medical services are being provided by the 'Total Health Sum' team, led by Sumit Saxena, a group that has shared a deep and long-standing bond with Wushu athletes over the years.

On the final day of the competition, the Senior Category Sanda events will be held, conducted under the guidance of Vivek Samaniya, a member of the organising committee.
