Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Kirori Mal College, Stunner Academy and Ramjas College began strongly in the PSPB Baba Deep Singh Basketball Tournament, securing convincing wins as the opening day showcased competitive matches and standout individual performances

New Delhi: Hosts Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College got off to a strong start in the 5th PSPB Baba Deep Singh Basketball Tournament, registering an emphatic win on the opening day. Kirori Mal College, Stunner Academy and Ramjas College also began their campaigns with victories in their respective matches.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sandeep Sarkaria, Joint Secretary of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB), in the presence of Prof. Gurmohinder Singh, Principal of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, and Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Director of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

In the men’s section, SGTB Khalsa College dominated Amity University with a convincing 77-42 win, with Rupesh Bhatii earning the Player of the Match award for his impressive performance. Kirori Mal College also put up a strong show, defeating Shri Ram College of Commerce 80-60, with Bhavya being named Player of the Match.

In the women’s category, Stunner Academy cruised past IP College with a commanding 76-40 victory. Sheryl was the standout performer and was adjudged Player of the Match. In another match, Ramjas College beat Kirori Mal College 40-28 in a closely contested game, with Veda Srivastav playing a key role and taking home the Player of the Match honours.

The opening day saw high energy and competitive action, promising an exciting tournament ahead.
