New Delhi: At KidZania Delhi NCR’s latest role play zone, children can step behind a mic to become radio jockeys. The activity, a partnership between KidZania India and BIG FM, was opened to the public on the June 25, following its launch in Mumbai on June 13.
Organisers say, BIG FM radio station has taken this initiative to teach kids about how music is played and script is read. It also teaches kids how to be confident as communication skills are necessary in every career.
And beyond “learning by doing”, there lies an arrangement driven commercially.
Speaking to www.thedelhijunction.com, Tarandeep Singh, Chief Business Officer of KidZania India, said, "The BIG FM Radio Station works on the same pay per spot model as every other branded role-play.
KidZania either builds the setup for the brand or the brand builds it independently, with the cost borne by the brand itself."
When asked what BIG FM gains from this partnership, Singh’s answer was simple - 'brand recognition and visibility'.
"Partnering with KidZania," he said, "is a way for a brand to build trust since parents and children interact with it directly inside the centre. The repeated and hands-on exposure creates trust, recognition and brand loyalty."
This activity is not limited to children. Adults, including parents, too can experience it.
The concern over data usage is very real and Singh cleared that no personal information is collected from children during the activity, and recordings of their radio-jockey sessions are not used for anycommercial purpose.
KidZania is, in fact, looking forward to giving the audio recordings to parents as a takeaway from the experience in future.
