Narwal, Rohtak Road and SM Arya register wins in Kalpana Chawla Girls Cricket

Anya Singh, Neha, Ishika and Avleen Kaur delivered standout performances as Cricket Academy of Narwal, Rohtak Road Gymkhana Girls and SM Arya Cricket Academy and record emphatic victories in the 3rd Kalpana Chawla Memorial Cricket Tournament

New Delhi: Several impressive performances lit up the ongoing 3rd All India Kalpana Chawla Girls Cricket Tournament at the Siri Fort Sports Complex and Gargi College Ground, as Cricket Academy of Narwal, Rohtak Road Gymkhana Girls and S.M. Arya Cricket Academy registered commanding victories in their respective matches.

In one of the matches, Cricket Academy of Narwal defeated GS Harry Cricket Academy by nine wickets. Batting first, GS Harry Cricket Academy managed 115/9 in 40 overs, with Bhargavi Vishwakarma top-scoring with 30 runs. Suman Sandhu starred with the ball for Narwal, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs, while Rita chipped in with 2/11.

In reply, Narwal chased down the target comfortably in just 16.4 overs, scoring 116/1. Player of the Match Anya Singh smashed an unbeaten 66 off 40 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, while Deepti Walia added 38 runs. Narwal will next face City Cricket Academy in the tournament.

In another match, Rohtak Road Gymkhana Girls secured an emphatic eight-wicket win over The One Sports Cricket Academy. Batting first, The One Sports Cricket Academy were bowled out for 140 in 40 overs. Shikha Pal scored 46 runs, while Kavya contributed 29.

Chasing the target, Rohtak Road Gymkhana Girls reached 144/2 in 28.5 overs. Vrinda Sharma made 48 runs, while Neha remained unbeaten on 55 and also delivered a match-winning spell of five wickets for 23 runs. Neha was named Player of the Match for her all-round performance, while Shikha Pal received the Fighter of the Match award.

Meanwhile, at the Gargi College Ground, S.M. Arya Cricket Academy thrashed Mount Cricket Club Girls by 10 wickets. Mount Cricket Club Girls were bundled out for 79 runs in 32 overs, with Tanishka Rana scoring 27 runs. Ishika produced an effective bowling spell of 3/11 and was well supported by Priya Sharma (3/19) and Simran Chauhan (2/14).

S.M. Arya Cricket Academy chased down the target in just seven overs without losing a wicket. Vanishka Leela remained unbeaten on 42, while Chhavi Gupta scored an unbeaten 35. Ishika was adjudged Player of the Match, while Tanishka Rana received the Fighter of the Match award from former India Under-19 player Ajay Verma.

In the 1st RPCA Girls Under-16 Cricket Tournament at Janaki Devi College ground, Bal Bhavan Dwarka Girls defeated Paragon Club by 25 runs in a high-scoring encounter. Batting first, Bal Bhavan Dwarka posted 221/5 in 30 overs, powered by Delhi Under-19 player Avleen Kaur’s 73 off 60 balls and Sakshi’s explosive 72 off 51 deliveries. Bhavya Chauhan added 33 runs, while Lakshita claimed 3/33 for Paragon Club.

In response, Paragon Club were bowled out for 196 in 28 overs despite an excellent all-round display from Tanisha, who scored 71 runs and picked up 2 wickets for just 2 runs. Nidhi Tanwar added 26 runs. Avleen Kaur also impressed with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 32 runs. Avleen Kaur and Sakshi were jointly named Players of the Match, while Tanisha received the Fighter of the Match award from Abhijit Kumar.
