Northern Railway lift All India Inter Railway Cricket title

The Northern Railway team won all their matches with captain Mahesh Rawat and coach Jaswinder Singh leading the team efficiently

The Northern Railway men's cricket team won the 68th All India Inter Railway Cricket Championship by defeating South Eastern Central Railway Bilaspur by one wicket in the final played in Hubli, Karnataka.

As many as 29 teams competed in the tournament. 

The league matches were held in Kapurthala, Patiala, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati, whereas the knockout matches were held in Hubli.

Teams from Northern Railway, Western Railway, Central Railway, Metro Railway Kolkata, NF Railway Guwahati, South West Railway, Eastern Railway, South East Central Railway entered the knockout stage. South Eastern Railway, with which former India captain and current Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni was employed, could not progress to knockouts. 

The Northern Railway team won all their matches with captain Mahesh Rawat and coach Jaswinder Singh leading the team efficiently.

Northern Railway batsman Mohammad Saif aggregated 495 runs, the highest in the competition while fast bowler Varun Palne took 17 wickets, the most by a bowler.

Ashok Kumar Verma, the General Manager of Northern Railway, felicitated the players.

All the teams of Northern Railway are performing well in sports under the leadership of Kaustubh Mani, Secretary of Northern Railway Sports Association.

The BCCI umpires in the tournament were Nikhil Patwardhan, Prahlad Rawat, Saurav Dhote, Praveen Sinha, Adipta Mukherjee, Neeraj Sharma, Karan Thakur, Mohammad Arif and Ashwini Mandhani. The knockout matches were streamed live.
