Palam Vihar Cricket Club clinched the Warriors Cricket League Season 5 by beating Innings Star Faridabad by seven wickets in the final at the TERI Oval in Gurgaon.

Innings Star Faridabad batted first and could make only 131 all out in 19.5 overs with captain Amrik Mehra scoring 36 off 32 balls and Ajit scoring 32 off 24 balls.

Varun Lamba was the pick of the bowlers for Palam Vihar Cricket Club, taking 3/28 in 3.5 overs. Simranjeet Singh took 2/18 in four, Vishal Chaturvedi 2/18 in three while Nitin Gola picked 2/16 in three overs.

The chase was easy for Palam Vihar Cricket Club. Opener Sooraj Bhalla, a patent lawyer, who was named the Player of the Tournament, top-scored with unbeaten 73 off 53 balls (6x6s, 2x4s).

“The pitch in the final at TERI Oval was damp due to rain. The ball was not travelling to the boundary due to heavy outfield,” said Bhalla.

“We could score only through running between the wickets. There were no big hits,” he added.

Akhil Sharma hit 21 off 29 balls while Maddy made 23 off 21 balls as Palam Vihar chased the target in 18.5 overs for the loss of three wickets.

None of the Innings Star Faridabad bowlers could make an impact to derail the opposition.

Palam Vihar had defeated Mighty Tigers in the semi-finals.
