Many players in the team are not happy with the way things are being managed and are not on the same page as members of the coaching staff

The support staff of the Indian cricket team may get the boot after the end of the tour of Australia as some of the senior players have expressed unhappiness with their working, it has been reliably learnt.
According to information with the www.thedelhijunction.com, coach Gautam Gambhir will continue to stay in charge after the series against Australia ends with the fifth and final Test that begins in Sydney on January 3, but some of those with him like Abhishek Nayar, Morne Morkel and Ryan Ten Doeschate may have to leave.
“The players in the team are not happy with the way things are going. They are not on the same page. There is no bowling plan. Some of the bowlers are being asked to bowl lines and lengths that they cannot be effective with,” said a source close to the team.
“Many of the current India players have travelled to Australia, so they know more about Test cricket here in Australia than some members of the coaching staff. What can they give to the team. They are failing to guide the players. The last coaching staff to tour Australia was sure about the plans which is why the team could win without some of the main players. There is complete confusion now. Worse is that the captain appears clueless.”
India are trailing 1-2 in the series going into the fifth and final Test. Although they still have the opportunity to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy and qualify for the World Test Championship final – provided Australia lose at Sydney and in Sri Lanka – they cannot win the series from here. India won the last two series in Australia and have been winning the bilateral Test series between the two nations since 2016-17.
A series loss is bound to put pressure on the two senior statsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as well as the coaching staff. Both Kohli and Sharma have been short of runs with the latter not being able to perform even as the skipper.
