New Delhi: A commanding opening-wicket partnership between Lakshay Solanki and Philip Kataria powered Tejus Academy, Karala, to an emphatic 82-run victory over Northern Railway Cricket Academy (NRCA) in a Junior Champions Trophy 2026 league match at the Karala Cricket Ground in Outer Delhi.
After winning the toss, Tejus Academy opted to bat first and justified the decision with a solid batting display. Openers Lakshay Solanki (55) and Philip Kataria (46) laid the foundation with a 130-run stand, putting the NRCA bowlers under sustained pressure. Kushal Yadav chipped in with a useful 24 as Tejus posted a competitive 201 for five in their allotted 30 overs.

For Northern Railway Cricket Academy, Arnav returned figures of 1/28 while Arjun claimed 1/12. Arjun, one of the youngest players in the tournament at just eight years of age, also impressed in the field with a direct-hit run-out that drew applause from spectators.

Tejus Academy's bowlers shared the spoils, with Parth Gurjar emerging as the standout performer with figures of 3 for 23. Lakshay Bhauria (2/19) and Kushal Mathur (2/29) provided excellent support, while Philip Kataria capped off an impressive all-round performance by taking one wicket for 17 runs.

The Junior Champions Trophy is being played across multiple venues in Karala, where floodlit grounds are providing young cricketers with valuable competitive exposure.
Following the match, chief guest Asha Singh Bansal, Founder-Chairperson of the Jagriti Vahini Foundation, felicitated the players for their performances. Coaches Neeraj Sharma of Northern Railway Cricket Academy and Pradeep Kataria of Tejus Academy praised the youngsters and urged them to continue developing their game through discipline, dedication and sportsmanship.
