New Delhi: Tanu Chauhan, representing SB Youth Cricket Club (Women), has emerged as one of the stars of the DDCA Women's T20 League 2026. She has reeled off centuries in each of the four matches she has played so far.
The 23-year-old has not been dismissed even once and has amassed 492 runs in the four matches.
The scorecards tell an almost unreal story.
She launched her campaign with 149 runs off just 78 balls in the opening match against Essex Farms (W). She followed it up with 108 runs off 76 balls against City Gymkhana (W), then 124 runs off 77 balls against Raghubir Willowers (W). And in her most recent outing, she scored 111 runs off 75 balls against Rajinder Nagar Colts CC (W), creating a four-match unbeaten streak. “Winning against City Gymkhana, making a century, meant the most to me because they were a good team and quite a nice challenge," says Tanu.
What makes it even more interesting is that she has maintained a strike rate of over 140 in every innings - 191.02, 142.1, 161.03 and 148 respectively.
Tanu started playing cricket at just 13 and was pushed into the game by her elder sister and has not stopped since.
“She taught me about life and was always there for me through thick and thin," Tanu recalls.

Her formal cricketing education began at Happy Home Public School, under coach Tejinder Malhotra, whom she credits for basics of the game. From there, she moved to Modern School, Barakhamba Road, where coaches Naveen Chopra and Priyanka Sisodia helped her develop further. She was appointed the team captain in 12th standard.
It was at this stage that she met her next coach Vipin Rawat, who went on to shape her career.
For the past seven years, Tanu has trained at Samrat Cricket Academy, Kerala School at Copernicus Marg in the Capital, under coach Rawat, whom she describes as a life mentor.
"He shaped my career and gave me the best he had. He supported me a lot, and I am very grateful to have him. He is my inspiration," she says.
The ongoing DDCA Women's T20 League, featuring around 700 players, is now in its second edition. The tournament has grown to 60 teams, 17 more than last year when 43 teams participated. It serves as a platform for player selections for Women's Delhi Premier League (DPL) and state teams. Every performance here is being watched closely and with her performance, Tanu is quite positive that she will make it.
With one match left for her team in the tournament on Thursday (June 25), a fifth century is within her reach.
"I am looking forward to scoring more runs and representing my country," she signs off.
