Delhi selectors name Ranji squad, uncertainty over Rishabh Pant's availability

New Delhi: The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has named a 24-member squad for the first two matches of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. Ayush Badoni will lead the side and Yash Dhull is the deputy.

“In the meeting of the Senior Men's Selection Committee held on October 9, 2025 at 3 PM at the DDCA, the following members were present: Yashpal Singh (Selector), K. Bhaskar Pillai (Selector), Manu Nayar (Selector), Sarandeep Singh (Chief Coach of Senior Men's team), Surinder Khanna (Member, CAC),  Ashok Sharma (Secretary), Amit Grover (Joint Secretary),” said a statement from the DDCA.

“The selectors have finalised the Delhi Men's Ranji Trophy squad for the 2025-26 domestic season. The first match is scheduled to commence on 15th October 2025 in Ahmedabad (read Hyderabad),” added the statement.

The selectors are also keeping an eye on Rishabh Pant. Pant has shown interest in playing a game to prove his fitness. However, it is not sure whether he will be available for the second or the third match.

“We will include Rishabh Pant as and when he is available and gets clearance from the NCA. He has shown interest in playing. He will be offered captaincy whenever he is available. The second and third games are in Delhi,” said an official of DDCA.
