New Delhi: Curtains came down on the 5th Hockey India Senior Women’s Inter-Department National Championship 2025 at the Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi, with the Railways Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) crowned champions after a commanding 5-1 victory over Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) - Women in the Final.

In a thrilling finale, Navneet Kaur (9’, 21’, 54’) produced a stunning hattrick, steering her side to a convincing triumph. She was ably supported by Salima Tete (39’) and Sangita Kumari (52’), who extended RSPB’s dominance. Despite a late strike from Jyoti (60’) for IOCL-Women, Railways proved too strong and lifted the coveted trophy.

The Player of the Match in the Final was awarded to Navneet Kaur for her exceptional hattrick performance.

The IOC team that finished second

Earlier, in the 3rd/4th place playoff, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) sealed the Bronze Medal with a 4-1 win against the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

Varitka Rawat (16’, 46’) struck twice to put SAI in control, while Captain Aishwarya Chavan (39’) and Prini Kandir (41’) added to the tally. For CBDT, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke (44’) managed to pull one back, but it wasn’t enough to stop SAI’s charge to the podium.

The Player of the Match in the Bronze playoff was Captain Aishwarya Chavan (SAI) for her impactful leadership and crucial goal.

The 2025 edition witnessed high-quality competition, with Railways Sports Promotion Board reaffirming their dominance, Indian Oil displaying strong grit as runners-up, and the Sports Authority of India proving their mettle to secure Bronze.
