New Delhi: The 40-over version of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Cricket Tournament, known as the All India Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2026, was inaugurated on Sunday by Additional Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Paweriya at the SGTB Khalsa College Ground.

This is the 51st edition of the tournament.

Paweriya was joined by Professor Guru Mohinder Singh, Principal of SGTB Khalsa College, along with Vinod Tihara, Suraj Sondhi, Kimati Lal, Pawan Kumar Gurditta, and Lalit Taneja.

In the opening match, Gemini Cricket Club registered a convincing 98-run victory over L.B. Shastri Cricket Club.

Opting to bat, Gemini posted an imposing 333 for 7 in 40 overs. Vishant Bhati led the charge with a cracking 141 off 88 balls, while Pratap Basista contributed 83 off 65 and Rohan Nagar added 37 off 34. For L.B. Shastri Cricket Club, Agrim Sharma picked up two wickets for 42 runs.

In response, L.B. Shastri Cricket Club were bowled out for 235 in 33.2 overs despite a valiant effort from Abhiraj Gagan Singh, who scored 96 off 72 balls, and Dhruv Singh, who made 79 off 63. However, their efforts fell short as Gemini secured a comprehensive win.
