
Sonnet slam Delhi Cricket Club by 141 runs while Dodge beat Telefunken by 84 runs

New Delhi: The fifth match of the first round of 51st Goswami Ganesh Dutt Cricket Tournament was played between Sonnet Cricket Club and Delhi Cricket Club on Friday (May 8).
Sanat Sangwan, the captain of Sonnet Cricket Club, won the toss and elected to bat. After batting for the allotted 40 overs, Sonnet Cricket Club posted a massive total of 388 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
The total was built with the help of century from Aryan Dalal (108 off 64 balls), Shivam Kishore's 63 off 55 balls, Shreyans Mahe 46 off 35 balls) and captain Sanat Sangwan (40 off 22 balls). The blistering batting performance helped set formidable target of 389 runs for Delhi Cricket Club.
The Delhi Cricket Club, however, folded for only 247 runs in 35.3 overs, losing all 10 wickets in the process. Abhimanyu Kumar (84 off 68 balls) was the top-scorer for the team.
This outcome was largely a result of the disciplined bowling attack of Sonnet Cricket Club. Aryan Dalal picked two wickets for 22 runs, Naman Tiwari snared two wickets for 35 runs, and Aryan Dahiya also took two wickets for 42 runs.
As a result, Sonnet secured a big 141-run victory for their team, Sonnet Cricket Club, in this match.
In an earlier match, on May 6 (Wednesday), Dodge Sports Cricket Club defeated Telefunken Cricket Club by 84 runs. Bharat Sindhwani, the captain of Telefunken Cricket Club, won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, Dodge Sports Cricket Club posted a massive total of 331 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 40 overs.
Divyansh Joshi (66 off 34 balls), Swastik Chikara (65 off 36 balls), and Kritagya Singh (51 off 59 balls) were the main scorers.
Meanwhile, representing Telefunken Cricket Club, Shubham Mishra (3/66) made significant contributions to his team through both his bowling and batting performances.
Mishra scored 53 off 39 balls. Besides him, Yash Dabas (35 off 20 balls) and Saurabh Deshwal (33 off 22 balls) also contributed for Telefunken.
Telefunken managed to score just 247 runs before being all out in 33.2 overs. This outcome was largely due to disciplined bowling from Dodge Cricket Club; Swastik Chitkara claimed two wickets for just nine runs, Kritagya Singh picked two wickets for 38 runs, while Akhil Chaudhary and Shivank Vashishth delivered excellent performances, taking two wickets each. As a result, they steered their team, Dodge Sports Cricket Club, to a magnificent victory in this match by a margin of 84 runs.
