Collage emerged champions of the inaugural edition of All India Shri Radhey Shyam Sharma Memorial Invitation Prize Money Cricket Tournament.

The tournament saw participation of 24 teams at the Subhania Sports Complex, Greater Noida (near Sector-148 metro station). The unique feature of the tournament was that there was no entry fee. The inaugural match was played at the Jamia Millia Islamia while the final was held at the Karnail Singh Stadium.

In the final, Collage made 340/8 in 40 overs with Samarth Seth scoring 90, Ankit Dabas 95 and Arjun Rapariya making quickfire 95. In response, Noida Wonders folded for just 180 runs with Gagan Vats scoring 62. Collage right-arm pace bowler Digvesh took 7/25 in 6.5 overs to also win the man of the match award.

Collage won the title clash by 160 runs.

Sanskar Rawat was adjudged the best batsman of the tournament, while Agrim Sharma won the best bowler award. Ankit Dabas was named Player of the Tournament.

The winning team got a cash prize of Rs 51,000, the runners-up Rs 31,000 while the individual award winners for the tournament got Rs 11,000 each.

The tournament is held in the memory of Radhey Shyam Sharma, a renowned coach and former pitch curator at Ferozeshah Kotla, who died last year.

“The Subhania Club organised the tournament on its own with any funding. We also did not charge any entry fee from the teams. We hope to continue this every year,” said Narender Sharma ‘Chikku’, son of Radhey Shyam Sharma, who is looking to carry on the legacy of his father.

Wrestler Sakshi Malik was guest of honour at the tournament final.
