Delhi Premier League: Know the owners of franchises

Real Force Resources Private Limited has shelled out the most money to buy a team in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), picking the South Delhi franchise for Rs 8.95 crore.

The East Delhi franchise, which has fetched the second highest price, Rs 8.30 crore, has been purchased by Areion Finserv Private Limited.

Utech Developers Private Limited have picked Central Delhi franchise for Rs 8.25 crore while Gupta Jee Tent Services Private Limited have got North Delhi franchise for Rs 8.15 crore.

SISL Infotech Private Limited have got the Old Delhi franchise for the base price of Rs 8 crore whereas Excel Group Private Limited have got West Delhi also for the base price of Rs 8 crore.

The total amount realised from the sale of the franchises is Rs 49.65 crore.

It should be noted that South Delhi, East Delhi, North Delhi and the Central Delhi franchises will field teams in both the men and women’s events of the Delhi Premier League.

The DPL T20 league will be played entirely at the Ferozeshah Kotla grounds of the Arun Jaitley Stadium, and will feature 40 matches – 33 in men’s category and seven in women’s category.  The matches will be broadcast live.

This is the first time that a T20 franchise league is being organised by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
