Golden double for Vijayi Bharat Foundation at Junior Judo Nationals 2025-26

Hitesh Guliya (-73 kg), representing Delhi, once again proved his dominance as the defending champion retained the national title and secured the gold medal in the Men’s -73 kg category

Ahmedabad/Kolkata: The recently concluded Junior National Judo Championships 2025-26, held from January 24 to 25, 2026, at Howrah's Dumurjala Indoor Stadium, showcased a strong presence of Vijayi Bharat Foundation (VBF) judokas, with six out of 13 judokas securing medals.

Hitesh Guliya (-73 kg), representing Delhi, once again proved his dominance as the defending champion retained the national title and secured the gold medal in the Men’s -73 kg category.

In the women’s event, Stanzin Daechan (-57kg) who was also representing Delhi, proved her supremacy after defeating defending champion Navroop in the finals to clinch the gold medal in the Women’s -57kg category.

Other VBF Judokas who secured medals at the event were Athoibi Yanglem, Silver Medal (Manipur, Women’s -63kg),

Anurag Sagar, Bronze Medal (Delhi, Men’s -60kg)

Sparsh Singh, Bronze Medal, (Uttar Pradesh, Men’s -60kg)

Tanzin Daechan won gold in 57 kg

A major highlight for Vijayi Bharat Foundation was the 66.67% gold conversion rate of the judokas, with two out of three VBF athletes who reached the final converting it into a gold medal at the nationals.

Their participation and achievement highlight the VBF’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting judo across India.
