The Hyderabad Cricket Association, it appears, is in the process of ensuring a familial discord among cricketers who have represented India.

The Association is getting 3,900 complimentary tickets for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches being held at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal. However, it is giving only two tickets for former internationals.

“It means that an international player will be forced to make a choice between his mother and wife and cannot bring both to a match. This can lead to discord in the family. Hahaha. Jokes aside, I think two passes for a cricketer from the state association who has represented India is pretty low,” an official aware of the development told www.thedelhijunction.com

So, everyone from Mohammed Azharuddin, VVS Laxman, Shivlal Yadav, Arshad Ayyub to the recent Mohammed Siraj, who will be in action in Gujarat Titans colours on April 6, will get only two passes each. Both these tickets will be for general stands only.

What’s worse is that the association is not giving a single complimentary ticket to Ranji Trophy or first-class players, even those who have represented the state in over 100 matches, nor to junior India players, that is, those who have represented India at the under-19 level or for the India ‘A’ team.

This is despite them getting 3,900 passes. The complete bifurcation of passes is given in the table posted with this report.

Meanwhile, the Times of India has reported that the HCA is coercing Sunrisers Hyderabad into releasing more tickets according to allegations made by the franchise who is looking to shift the match.

“All these unprofessional threats and actions by HCA, especially by the HCA President, make it evident that you don’t want Sunrisers to play at your stadium. If that is the case, please let me know in writing so that we can inform BCCI, the Telangana government, and our management that you wish for us to move to another venue, and we will move,” said Sunrisers Hyderabad general manager Srinath TB in an email to HCA President A Jagan Mohan Rao.

“We have been working with HCA for the last 12 years. Only from last year have we been facing constant issues and harassment from HCA,” alleged Srinath.
