For the first time in history, spectators stepping into the Arun Jaitley Stadium to watch an international cricket match won’t have to shell out money to buy food and drinks.

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has included a meal in the tickets for the upcoming India vs Bangladesh T20 International that is scheduled to take place at the Ferozeshah Kotla grounds on October 9.

“This time we have decided to do away with general stand tickets. All the seats will be accompanied by hospitality, i.e. each of the wickets will include a meal and a drink,” said an official of the DDCA.

The price of the tickets start from Rs 2,000, the lowest one being much higher than earlier. The highest-priced ticket is worth Rs 15,000.

“The lower-priced tickets will include a meal option and a bottle of water or cold drink,” said the official.

The DDCA has, in the past, faced criticism from the fans for lack of facilities and high-priced food at the stalls. This had forced the association to restrict the price in recent past. However, this time they decided to club food with the tickets.

The October 9 match will be the second of three T20Is between India and Bangladesh. The first will be played in Gwalior on October 6. India beat Bangladesh 2-0 in the two-Test series.
