Joon's ton in vain, Seth's blistering start guides Collage in DDCA T20 League

Siddhant Joon’s 101 off 38 balls went in vain as Youngster CC lost to Collage Group by 11 runs in a Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) T20 League match.

Joon hit 11 sixes and six fours as his team finished at 207/7 in 20 overs, just 11 short of 218/4 made by Collage.

The innings of Collage, who batted first, revolved around Samarth Seth’s 62 off 33 balls and Sombir Sheokand’s 46 off 25 balls. Rajesh Sharma made 41 off 23 balls.

Seth was in good form in the Delhi Premier League and was one of the rare bright spot in an abysmal performance from Purani Dilli 6.

Seth’s blistering start took the team close to 95 in the first 10 overs. In fact, the first wicket partnership yielded 94 where Seth was the dominant partner. The left-hander was dismissed as the second wicket when the score was 95.  

Loss of early wickets pegged Youngster back but Joon carried on the fight. After he was dismissed with the team score on 139, Ikshit Nishal made 40 off 25 balls but the team fell short.

Pardeep Parashar, who also represented Collage, was the most successful bowler for Collage taking 3/33.
