Arjun Rapria was the star with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 72 off just 32 deliveries, an explosive innings that included 8 sixes and 3 fours

New Delhi: Outstanding all-round performance by Arjun Rapria (in pic) guided Vijay Dahiya Cricket Academy to a memorable 12-run victory over Rajinder Nagar Colts in the 12th Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Sahibzada Fateh Singh T20 Cricket Tournament, played at the Khalsa College Ground.

Batting first, Vijay Dahiya Cricket Academy posted a competitive total of 183 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Arjun Rapria was the star with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 72 off just 32 deliveries, an explosive innings that included 8 sixes and 3 fours. He received solid support from Pranshu Vijayran, who contributed a well-made 51 runs. With the ball, Yug Gupta impressed by claiming three wickets for 33 runs, while Prince Mishra added two wickets for 32 runs.

In reply, Rajinder Nagar Colts mounted a strong chase but ultimately fell short, finishing on 171 for 9 in 20 overs. Gulzar Sandhu played a valiant knock of 87 runs off 54 balls, striking nine fours and four sixes to keep his side in contention. Vansh Mehra chipped in with 24 runs. For Vijay Dahiya Cricket Academy, Arjun Rapria capped off a fine all-round display by picking three wickets for 28 runs. He was well supported by Sachin Pundir, who returned figures of 3 for 38, and Dhruv Das, who claimed 2 wickets for 49 runs.

Rapria was deservedly named Man of the Match for his match-winning contribution with both bat and ball. Gulzar Sandhu of Rajinder Nagar Colts received the Impact Player of the Match award for his impressive fighting innings.

"The pitch was a bit slow. But I managed to hit 32 runs in 19th over with four sixes and two fours. My score before the start of the 19th over was 29 off 23 balls. But then I got 32 in the 19th and a six and a four in the last over," said Rapria, who is 26 and is a resident of Kalyana Vihar near Model Town.

Rapria represents North Delhi Strikers in Delhi Premier League and played all the matches.
