New Delhi: The two-day Delhi Kala Utsav 2026, organised by Sanskar Bharti, Delhi Province, in collaboration with the Delhi Government, concluded successfully at Ravindra Bhawan, Mandi House, New Delhi.
This cultural extravaganza, spanning both days, not only attracted a large number of art lovers but was also hailed as a memorable event for its high-quality performances.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Harsh Malhotra (Union Minister of State for Road Transport), Vijender Gupta (President, Delhi Legislative Assembly), Vijay Kumar (All India Co-Organization Head and Regional Organization Minister, Sanskar Bharti), and Ashok Tiwari (All India Executive Member, Sanskar Bharti). The guests highlighted the importance of such events in preserving and promoting Indian art and culture.
Both days of the festival witnessed a rich confluence of classical music, dance, folk performances, theatrical performances, poetry, and traditional art forms. Renowned santoor player and composer Pandit Abhay Rustam Sopori presented a special rendition of Raga Bhartiya, a new raga, through his santoor playing, which was highly appreciated by the audience. Vidhi Sharma mesmerised the audience with her melodious rendition of Holi songs.
Among the stage performances, the play "Besahara Aurat" directed by Pradeep Kukreja received special appreciation. The Kavi Sammelan organised as part of the festival was a highlight as always, with renowned poets enthralling the audience with their compositions.
The highlight of the festival was the Phool Holi of Vrindavan, presented by the Charkula Arts Academy, which deeply connected the audience with the cultural tradition of Holi.
The Delhi Art Festival 2026 was supported by the Delhi Government, along with the participation of the Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy, the Lalit Kala Academy, and various cultural organisations, making it a coordinated cultural platform for the capital's art world.
Held before the arrival of Holi, this festival provided an opportunity to experience Indian folk life and the tradition of colours. The audience witnessed the vibrant spirit of Indian culture up close and became acquainted with the diverse traditions of folk art. The event was attended by many prominent figures from the world of art and culture. According to the organisers, this festival is an important initiative in the capital's cultural landscape, aimed at increasing sensitivity to art and cultural awareness in society.
On both days, visitors thoroughly enjoyed folk art, participation by traditional craftspeople, puppetry, handicraft displays, and traditional Delhi-6 cuisine. The participation of a large number of families, students, and art lovers added a special dimension to the event.
