Friends, Madras secure wins in Tyagmurti GG Dutt Cricket

Friends CC beat Ravi Brothers CC by 2 wickets; Madras CC defeated Bhiwani Youth CA by 39 runs

New Delhi: In the third match of the opening round of the 51st Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament on Tuesday, Friends Cricket Club registered a hard-fought win over Ravi Brothers Cricket Club. Friends skipper Ankit Bisht won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, Ravi Brothers Cricket Club were bowled out for 127 in 29.2 overs. Karan Soni top-scored with 35 off 59 balls, while Harish Badana contributed a brisk 33 off 24. For Friends Cricket Club, Rikshit Mehta starred with an impressive 5/21, while Pradyuman chipped in with 4/43 to dismantle the opposition.

In reply, Friends Cricket Club chased down the 128-run target in 22 overs, scoring 131/8. Captain Ankit Bisht led from the front with 32 off 21 balls, supported by Arya Singh’s quick 27 off 15 deliveries. Despite a standout bowling effort from Aman Saini, who claimed 5/54, Friends Cricket Club held their nerve to clinch a narrow two-wicket victory.

In the second match of the tournament on Monday, Madras Cricket Club secured a convincing victory over Bhiwani Youth Cricket Academy. Bhiwani skipper Neel Mani won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, Madras Cricket Club posted a formidable 300/9 in 40 overs. Sujal Rajiv Singh led the charge with 58 off 55 balls, while Deepak Punia (55 off 40), Abhay Chauhan (43 off 22), and Nitin Singh (38 off 13) made valuable contributions to power the innings.

For Bhiwani Youth Cricket Academy, Dhruv Kaushik (2/27) and Neel Mani Kumar (2/49) were the pick of the bowlers.

In response, Bhiwani Youth Cricket Academy were bowled out for 261 in 34.5 overs despite aggressive knocks from Dhruv Kaushik (54 off 29) and Dhruv Bhardwaj (50 off 29). Rahul A. Chaudhary starred with the ball for Madras Cricket Club, claiming 5/65 to seal a 39-run victory.
