New Delhi: Khalsa College defeated SRK Technology 11 by eight wickets on Monday to keep themselves alive in the 12th Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh T20 Cricket Tournament – 2026 underway at the SGTB Khalsa College. It was a must-win game for the home boys and they were faced with a target of 182 runs.

They managed to chase it down in 18.4 overs thanks to unbeaten 75 off 51 balls by opening batsman Aditya Kumar, who trains at Super Star Cricket Club and represents South Delhi Colts in the DDCA League.

"I opened the innings today and made 75 not out. I wanted to take the innings deep. In the previous games, nobody stayed on the pitch. We thought we would win if one of us stays at the pitch for long. That is what I did. This match was crucial for us to boost our chances of qualification," said Aditya, the right-handed opener.

Batting first, SRK Technology 11 posted a competitive 181/3 in 20 overs, anchored by a splendid unbeaten 96 off 58 balls by Gaurav Gaur. He found support from Prateek Raman (24 off 14) and Gagan Vats (23). For Khalsa, Revaant Rakyan (1/28) was the most economical among the wicket-takers.

Gaur hit five sixes and seven fours.

"I have been doing well for the last 2-3 tournaments, making 70s and 80s," said Gaur, who was in the auction list for the Delhi Premier League (DPL) last year.

"I have been doing well in recent times, making 70s and 80s. I was in the DPL auction list but couldn't make it. But this time I want to make he cut. I am focussing on DDCA T20 League which begins in a few days. I scored 400-plus runs in last year's T20 league," said the batsman who represented Delhi Colts last year and is playing for Mohan Meakins this year.

In response, SGTB Khalsa displayed a clinical batting performance, reaching 185/2 in 18.4 overs. Aditya Kumar remained unbeaten on 75 off 51 balls, while Sanskaar struck 56 off 36 to lay the foundation. A late flourish from Revaant Rakyan ensured a comfortable finish.
