Maharashtra Tourism Pavilion receives overwhelming response at ‘Bharat Parv 2026’ in New Delhi

The festival showcased India's cultural diversity through regional cuisines, traditional attire, handicrafts, folk arts, and music from across the country, thereby emphasizing the "unity in diversity" concept

Mumbai: To mark the occasion of the Republic Day of India, a six-day-long Bharat Parv 2026 festival was organised from January 26 to 31 at the lawns opposite the Red Fort and along Gyan Path in New Delhi. The Tourism Department of the Government of Maharashtra participated in the festival with a separate pavilion, which became one of the most popular attractions for visitors.

The festival showcased India's cultural diversity through regional cuisines, traditional attire, handicrafts, folk arts, and music from across the country, thereby emphasizing the "unity in diversity" concept.

A large number of visitors visited the Maharashtra Tourism pavilion. The pavilion provided visitors with all the necessary information on major tourist destinations, connectivity, and available tourist facilities in the state. The pavilion showcased Maharashtra's distinct tourism offerings, including its cultural heritage, beautiful beaches, and UNESCO-listed forts.

The primary objective of the pavilion was to market the tourism potential of Maharashtra and give information about the various destinations of the state to the global audience. Many prominent personalities from various fields, along with a huge number of tourists, visited the Maharashtra Tourism pavilion.

The stakeholders who attended the tourism fair showed great interest in the tourism products and services of Maharashtra. The visitors appreciated the creative design of the pavilion and recognized the effective promotion of the state’s culture and tourism potential.

Sanjay Khandare, Principal Secretary (Tourism), Government of Maharashtra said, “Through Bharat Parv 2026, our endeavour to display the tourism possibilities and heritage of Maharashtra on a global platform has proved to be highly successful. The event offered a great platform to showcase places like historic forts, heritage sites, beaches, and hill stations to the global audience. There has been a growing interest in Maharashtra Tourism from both domestic and international quarters, which will definitely help in the economic development of the tourism sector.”

BN Patil (IAS), Director, Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra said, “With the participation of the Maharashtra Tourism Department in the Bharat Parv 2026, the department was able to reach out to the various stakeholders in the tourism industry with information on the various tourist destinations in the state. The festival provided an opportunity for the exchange of information regarding tourism services and infrastructure, which will help in the development of the tourism sector. The Maharashtra Tourism has once again established its identity in the tourism sector through this platform."
