
The National Gallery of Modern Art, in collaboration with the Gujral Foundation, hosted an exclusive after-hours event during India Art Fair week to mark the launch of the exhibition catalogue for Satish Gujral 100, celebrating the legendary modernist’s centenary

New Delhi: Coinciding with the opening week of the India Art Fair, the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), in collaboration with the Gujral Foundation, hosted an exclusive after-hours event titled ‘A Night at the Museum’, celebrating the centenary exhibition Satish Gujral 100.
The evening on February 5 marked the formal launch of the exhibition catalogue for Satish Gujral 100, currently on display at NGMA, Delhi. The catalogue presents a comprehensive and scholarly overview of Satish Gujral’s extensive multidisciplinary oeuvre, encompassing art, architecture, sculpture, and literature, and traces the evolution of one of India’s most influential modern artists.
The India Art Fair was held from February 6-8.
The event was held under the leadership of Sanjeev Kishor Goutam, Director General, National Gallery of Modern Art, highlighting NGMA’s ongoing commitment to preserving and showcasing India’s modern artistic heritage. Speaking on the occasion, Goutam said that Satish Gujral’s legacy transcends disciplines and generations, and that the centenary exhibition stands as a tribute to a visionary who helped shape the language of modern Indian art.
The evening was attended by Mohit Gujral, Feroze Gujral, Kishore Singh, Pooja Hali and Jyoti Tokas, among other invited guests from the art and cultural community.
Curated walkthroughs of the exhibition were led by Kishore Singh, offering attendees deeper insight into Gujral’s life, creative vision, and artistic journey. A limited selection of exhibition catalogues and centenary merchandise was also made available during the event.
‘A Night at the Museum’ provided an immersive cultural experience, bringing together artists, patrons, and art enthusiasts in a celebration of Satish Gujral’s enduring contribution to India’s modern art narrative.
