New Delhi: Sehgal Cricket Club emerged champions after edging past Madras Cricket Club by one wicket in a nail-biting final of the 51st Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament at the SGTB Khalsa College Ground. Chasing a challenging target of 298 in the match played on May 31, Sehgal held their nerve to reach 298 for 9 in 39.3 overs and seal a memorable victory in the tournament decider.

After winning the toss, Madras Cricket Club captain Keshav R. Singh (also known as Keshav Dalal) elected to bat. Madras posted an imposing 297 all out in 38.4 overs, thanks to a series of aggressive contributions from their top order. Abhay Chauhan led the charge with a brilliant 77 off 52 balls, while Vivrant played a composed knock of 58 from 56 deliveries. Rehan Singh added further impetus with a quickfire 56 off 44 balls.

For Sehgal Cricket Club, Shivam Sharma, Prashant Bhati and Prince Yadav shared the bowling honours, claiming two wickets each. Shivam finished with figures of 2 for 31, while Prashant Bhati and Prince Yadav returned 2 for 39 and 2 for 58 respectively.

In reply, Sehgal Cricket Club produced a determined batting performance to overhaul the target in the final over. Dev Dubey anchored the chase magnificently with an unbeaten 93 off 78 balls, steering his side home under pressure. He received valuable support from Tushar Bhardwaj, who scored 52 off 60 deliveries, while Prince Yadav contributed a brisk 44 from 35 balls. Prashant Bhati also chipped in with an important 39-run knock.

Madras Cricket Club fought hard with the ball and nearly pulled off a dramatic victory. Harsh Tyagi was the standout performer, claiming four wickets for 55 runs, while Abhay Chauhan picked up two for 22. However, Sehgal's lower order held firm to complete the chase and secure the title by the narrowest of margins.

Dev Dubey was named Player of the Match for his match-winning unbeaten 93. The award was presented by chief guests Pravesh Wahi and Ajay Sharma, along with Professor Harbans Singh, former DDCA Secretary Vinod Tiwari, and Raman Kumar Saluja of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Society.

Prashant Bhati was adjudged the Sports Sun Fighter of the Match for his all-round contribution of 39 runs and figures of 2 for 39. The award was presented by Pravesh Wahi, Ajay Sharma, Pawan Kumar Guruditta, Professor Harbans Singh and Vinod Tiwari.
