But for Yash Dhull’s century, Delhi’s batting on the first day of their fourth Ranji Trophy tie, against Chandigarh, faltered. Delhi were bowled out for 276 with Dhull scoring 121.

The right-handed batsman, who came into bat at No. 3, hit 21 fours in his 190-ball innings. This was his second ton of the season.

Dhull was the dominant partner in his 82-run stand with Sanat Sangwan for the second wicket.

He then added 96 runs for the fourth wicket with Ayush Badoni, who scored 49 off 50 balls and hit three fours and three sixes.

While the two were there together, it seemed that Delhi would get to a big total.

However, the innings lost momentum after the dismissal of Badoni, who was expected to stay at the crease longer.

Kshitiz Sharma walked in at No. 6 as replacement for Jonty Sidhu, who was surprisingly dropped even though he helped Delhi earn three points with a century in the first match of the season and put in a gritty 81-ball 23 rearguard against Tamil Nadu in the second game.

Kshitiz fell for two, Sumit Mathur for 15 and soon Dhull was also back in the pavilion, run out, as the score read 216/7.

Shivank Vashisht (31), Hrithik Shokeen (16 not out), and Siddhant Sharma (14) took the team to the eventual score.

In response, Chandigarh recovered after the loss of an early wicket and were 63/1.
