New Delhi: York Ravindra Cricket Club secured a hard-fought 10-run win at the 12th Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Sahibzada Fateh Singh Twenty20 Cricket Tournament over Khalsa XI at the Khalsa College Ground.
Batting first, York Ravindra Cricket Club posted a competitive 177 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, setting Khalsa XI a challenging target. The chase stayed alive through the middle overs as Khalsa XI fought back, but they ultimately finished on 167 for 9, falling just short despite a spirited effort.
For Khalsa XI, Harsh Bhati top-scored with a fluent 47, while Akash Yadav added 25 to keep the contest in the balance. However, disciplined bowling and timely breakthroughs from York Ravindra prevented the chase from gathering decisive momentum in the closing stages.
Delhi Ranji Trophy player Harsh Tyagi was named Man of the Match for an impressive all-round performance. Tyagi contributed 31 runs with the bat and returned figures of 2 for 27 with the ball, playing a key role in his team’s triumph. Khalsa XI’s Nirbhay Dagar was adjudged the Impact Player of the match for his influence during the game.
In another match, Rann Star recorded a commanding win.
Batting first at the SGTB Khalsa College Ground, Rann Star piled up a massive 256 for 4 in their 20 overs. In response, RP Singh Cricket Academy were bowled out for 133 in 16 overs, succumbing to a heavy 125-run defeat.
Despite the loss, Darpan Saini stood out for RP Singh Cricket Academy with a fighting 39. IPL player Pawan Negi was named Man of the Match for his excellent spell, returning figures of 4 for 38 to dismantle the opposition batting. Kunal was adjudged the Impact Player after smashing an impressive 85 off just 44 balls, setting up Rann Star’s emphatic victory.
