New Delhi: India on Tuesday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, with off-spinner Saransh Jain earning his maiden national call-up. The series will also mark India's first red-ball assignment after the recent international break, with the team scheduled to play a four-day practice match in Colombo from August 7.
The Men's Selection Committee retained Shubman Gill as captain, while experienced opener KL Rahul has been named vice-captain for the tour.
The squad features a blend of established names and emerging talent, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna forming the core of the side. Wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, all-rounder Manav Suthar, pacer Gurnoor Brar and batter Devdutt Padikkal have also been included.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) clarified that the availability of batter Sai Sudharsan and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will be subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE).
The selectors also confirmed that all-rounder Washington Sundar was unavailable for selection for the first Test.
