New Delhi: SRK Technologies XI Cricket Club registered a thrilling three-wicket victory over Sonnet Cricket Club in a pre-quarterfinal of Tyagmurti Goswami Ganesh Dutt Cricket tournament played at the SGTB Khalsa College on Monday, May 18, 2026.
SRK Technologies XI skipper Arvind Verma won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Sonnet Cricket Club posted a competitive 239 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs, riding on impressive knocks from Shivam Kishore (69 off 60 balls), Naman Tiwari (52 off 40), and Aryan Dalal (44 off 43).
For SRK Technologies XI, Prateek Raman starred with the ball, returning figures of 3 for 13. Avinash Thapa claimed 2 for 44, while Nitin Tanwar chipped in with 2 for 56.
In reply, SRK Technologies XI Cricket Club chased down the target in 32.1 overs, scoring 242 for 7 to seal a convincing win. Nakul Sharma led the charge with a brilliant 68 off 53 deliveries, while Dhananjay Singh contributed a quickfire 46 off 26 balls. Nitin Tanwar added 35 off 30, and Deshant Mishra scored 32 off 35 balls.
For Sonnet Cricket Club, Lokesh Nagar (2/41), Aryan Dahiya (2/43), and Shaurya Singh (2/57) were the pick of the bowlers.
Nakul Sharma of SRK Technologies XI Cricket Club was adjudged the best performer of the match for his match-winning innings. The award was presented by Vinod Katyal.
Essex Farms Cricket Club registers five-wicket win
Essex Farms Cricket Club produced a commanding batting display to register a five-wicket victory over Friends Cricket Club in another pre-quarterfinal on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Essex Farms skipper Krish Yadav won the toss and opted to field first. Batting first, Friends Cricket Club posted 239 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs, courtesy a magnificent century from Dev Mehra, who smashed 102 runs off 58 deliveries. Yashvardhan Oberoi also made a valuable contribution with 45 off 32 balls.
For Essex Farms Cricket Club, Harsh Bhardwaj was the standout bowler with figures of 3 for 46, while Raunak claimed 2 for 46.
In reply, Essex Farms Cricket Club chased down the target comfortably, scoring 242 for 5 in just 32.1 overs. Kavya starred with the bat, hammering 77 runs off 61 balls, including 10 boundaries and a six. Ashish Tanwar remained unbeaten on 57 off 59 deliveries, while skipper Chris Yadav played an aggressive knock of 46 off 28 balls.
Friends Cricket Club bowlers Ghanshyam (2/39) and Prince Mehra (2/51) managed to pick up two wickets each but failed to stop the Essex Farms batting line-up from cruising to victory.
Kavya of Essex Farms Cricket Club was adjudged the “Kimati Sports Player” of the Match for the match-winning innings. The award was presented by Raman Vij, Joint Secretary (Sports), Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Society, New Delhi, along with BCCI umpire Sanjay Singh.
Meanwhile, Dev Mehra was named the “Sport Sun – Spirited Player” of the day for his explosive batting effort. The award was presented by Subhash Mathur, Chairman of the Umpiring Committee of the Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Society, and BCCI umpire Sanjay Bansal.
Sporting Club beat Gemini by six wickets
In the first pre-quarterfinal match played on Saturday, May 16, Sporting Cricket Club produced a dominant batting performance to defeat Gemini Cricket Club by six wickets in a high-scoring pre-quarterfinal encounter.
Batting first, Gemini Cricket Club posted a challenging total of 276 runs, powered by several useful contributions from their top and middle order. Advitiya Popli led the scoring with a fluent 62 off 58 balls, while Vishant Bhati added 45 off 32 deliveries. Rohan Rana chipped in with 44 off 36 balls, and Samarth Singh provided late momentum with a blistering 43 off just 18 balls.
For Sporting Cricket Club, Lalit Yadav and Sunil Kumar were the standout bowlers, claiming three wickets each with figures of 3 for 39 and 3 for 44 respectively. Yogesh Kumar also made an important contribution with 2 for 45.
Chasing a target of 277, Sporting Cricket Club comfortably reached 277 for 4 in just 31.1 overs. Kunal Sangwan anchored the innings brilliantly with an unbeaten 105 off 90 balls, while Rishabh Drall played an aggressive knock of 82 not out off 51 deliveries as the duo guided their side to an emphatic victory.
Saurabh Rai was the most successful bowler for Gamini Cricket Club with figures of 2 for 24, but the rest of the bowling attack struggled to contain the Sporting Cricket Club batters during the chase.
