Pioneer club clinches Sport Sun Trophy 2026 after thrilling win over Noida Wonders

Powered by Vipul’s match-winning 92 and Ashwini Chillar’s rapid half-century, Pioneer Cricket Club chased down 250 in just 35.1 overs to defeat Noida Wonders Cricket Club by three wickets in the final of the Rajpati Mishra Memorial Tournament

New Delhi: Pioneer Cricket Club emerged champions after defeating Noida Wonders Cricket Club by three wickets in the final of the 11th All India Sh. Rajpati Mishra Memorial Cricket Tournament for Sport Sun Trophy-2026.

After winning the toss, Noida Wonders Cricket Club elected to bat first and posted a competitive 249/6 in their allotted 40 overs. Priyansh Bhardwaj led the charge with a fluent 80 off 77 balls, striking nine boundaries and three sixes, while Harshit Sethi remained unbeaten on 49 from just 32 deliveries with five fours and a six. Gagan Vats also contributed a valuable 41 off 43 balls.

For Pioneer Cricket Club, Jasmeet Nain returned figures of 2/42 in six overs, while Ajay Yadav claimed two wickets for 47 runs from his eight-over spell.

Chasing 250 for victory, Pioneer Cricket Club produced a strong batting display to reach 253/7 in 35.1 overs and seal the title. Vipul starred with a match-winning 92 off 73 balls, smashing 12 fours and two sixes, while Ashwini Chillar scored a brisk 61 from 48 deliveries with seven boundaries and two sixes. Malik chipped in with an important 39 off 33 balls.

Karan Chaudhary was the standout bowler for Noida Wonders Cricket Club with figures of 4/50 in eight overs, while Harshit Sethi picked up two wickets.

Vipul was named the Sport Sun Man of the Match for his decisive knock in the final.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by chief guests Shyam Sharma, Vinod Sharma and Pawan Kumar.

The tournament awards saw Kapil bag the Best Batsman honour, Sparsh Joshi named Best Bowler, Abeer Sudan adjudged Emerging Player of the Tournament, and Arvind crowned Player of the Tournament.
