New Delhi: Sara X Golf Code produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Baale Golf and clinch the title at the 5th edition of the Delhi Golf Club Members League, powered by RADICO, held at the historic Delhi Golf Club.

The final unfolded like a fairy tale, living up to all expectations. Baale Golf got off to a strong start, securing victories in the first two matches to take early control. Sara X Golf Code responded through Pratap Singh Atwal—renowned as the league’s longest driver—and his partner Ishan Kapur, who combined effectively to win the third game and revive their team’s hopes.

Baale Golf, however, quickly restored their advantage. Fourteen-year-old Aditya Misra, alongside Ashish Nath, delivered an impressive performance to win the fourth game, maintaining their team’s two-match lead with three games remaining.

At the halfway mark, Baale Golf led in five of the seven matches—a commanding position that would challenge even the toughest opponents. Yet, Sara X Golf Code, boasting some of the club’s finest match-play golfers, showed immense composure and determination. Demonstrating patience and resilience, they staged a spirited fightback, winning three consecutive matches to turn the contest on its head and seize the title in style.

The drama peaked on the final hole, with Baale Golf trailing by one. They needed an outright win to force a playoff. Team owner Ashwin Chandiok played a superb third shot onto the green, setting up a 20-foot birdie putt to extend the match.

At the same time, Sara’s Imran Baig had reached the green in regulation and faced a 25-foot putt to secure victory. His first attempt fell five feet short, shifting the spotlight back to Chandiok amid a tense, packed gallery. His birdie effort narrowly missed, leaving Baig with a challenging right-to-left putt. Holding his nerve, Baig sank it to seal a memorable win and deliver Sara X Golf Code their maiden title.

In the playoff for third place, Athletic Drive started strongly against SwingKKings, winning the opening two matches. However, SwingKKings mounted a strong comeback, taking the next four matches in succession. The turning point came when team owner Kanishk Khullar and Vikram Kapoor secured a convincing 4&1 win over Surya Uday Bedi and Tarun Talwar in the third match. With the final game ending in a tie, SwingKKings claimed third place.
